Clementius Stupnagel di Montefalcone: the saga of a smart artist (smartast)

Chapter 7
The New York Subway is a fascinating place, especially for meeting real characters. One day, after having observed CSM’s ballet act
to recover peanuts, a man with a straw hat named Mr. Wilhelm deGoonik comes up to CSM and asks him where is he going. CSM replies: « To school, where else ? », so Mr. deGoonik compliments him : « Good boy, but what are you doing in a subway station?». To this question CSM answers « I’m waiting for the next train to take me to school and eating peanuts in the meantime».

« You ought to be careful with peanut vendors» says deGoonik. «Why ? » asks CSM. «Because everybody puts their filthy hands in the opening » says deGoonik. At this moment, CSM takes a look at deGoonik’s hands and notices that they are full of paint, of many colors. « You mean hands like yours ? » says CSM. « No, my hands are those of an artist », says DeGoonik.
